Nash and Proper
Sacramento natives Cecil Rhodes and Jake Bombard were running Cecil’s food truck, Cecil’s Taste, in late 2017 when they decided to mess around with a recipe for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. When the new menu item immediately became a sellout favorite, the team knew they had struck gold, and decided to open a new food truck - Nash & Proper - to focus exclusively on delivering Sacramento’s favorite fried chicken sandwich to the masses. After expanding to three trucks and winning the 2019 Downtown Sacramento Partnership’s “Calling All Dreamers” contest, the team opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant on K Street and a location in Elk Grove as well. Today, Nash & Proper continues to offer the area’s best fried chicken with your choice of heat, and homestyle sides such as slaw, potato salad, and crinkle fries.
