Yalla Falafel
Chef Einat has spent the last 20 years shaping the Mediterranean culinary scene in New York City. A two-time James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chefs, she is recognized for fresh and creative takes on traditional sects of Mediterranean cuisine, and most notably her falafel.
Touted in the New York media as the “Queen of Falafel”, Chef Einat was eager to partner with Local Kitchens and further her reach of her highly lauded falafel. This combined with her use of her native language in the development kitchen inspired the name for the menu: Yalla Falafel. The menu brings the bright and bold spices of Chef Einat’s recognizable flavor profiles, drawing ties to authentic traditions she has collected from all over the Mediterranean. The famous Green Falafel is a menu highlight, bursting with the fresh flavors of cilantro, parsley, and mint, that are elevated by bright spices such as cumin and coriander. The cooking process further differentiates the falafel, creating a melt-in-your-mouth experience that goes from crunchy bite to tender and airy. It can be enjoyed four ways: as a side, pita sandwich, rice plate, or hummus plate.
